Specialty Materials for Adhesive Formulations

CVC Thermoset Specialties develops specialty chemicals and additives to support a diverse range of adhesive applications. Today’s formulators face many challenges, including the need to reduce cure times for improved cycle times. Construction crews need faster return to service for installation and repair projects that require fastening and bonding.

In addition, many applications such as composite parts used in automotive and aerospace products require adhesives that can cure at lower temperatures. They also require better adhesion between different substrates like metals, leather and plastics. And manufacturers need to be able to store parts longer while maintaining stability.

CVC has multi-functional performance epoxy grades that can meet these needs and more. Specialty materials like EPALLOY® 7200 are mercaptan-free, yet gel in minutes and deliver final properties fast. Epoxy flexibilizer grades like ERISYS® work well in laminating adhesives, food packaging applications and joint compounds that must maintain their performance through extreme temperature ranges.

OMICURE® urea accelerators enable adhesives to stay stable longer while in storage. And NYCHEM® nitrile latexes deliver the wet laminating and heat sealing strength required to bond various substrates and nonwovens together, and the durability and flexibility required for use in multiple laminating applications.
