Nychem® 1552 Nitrile-Butadiene Latex
Nychem 1552 is one of our Medium Nitrile Emulsion offerings. This line features a combination of very good oil, grease and hydrocarbon resistance, toughness/resilience, and tear and abrasion resistance. Toughness, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance can be further enhanced though either vulcanization or by adding external crosslinking agents such as melamines, epoxies, phenolics or metal complexes. Nychem 1552 is a high solids noncarboxylated butadiene acrylonitrile copolymer latex that is stabilized with natural surfactants so it exhibits excellent water and alkali resistance and, if desired, can be easily destabilized. It has good compatibility with polyvinyl chloride dispersions and good heat and light aging. It is approved for use under FDA regulations 175.105 (adhesives) and 177.2600 (rubber articles). Common applications include paper saturation, adhesives and abrasives.
