Nychem® 1581 Carboxylated Nitrile-Butadiene Latex
Nychem 1581 is one of our Specialty offerings. It is a carboxylated butadiene acrylonitrile polymer latex with a high nitrile content featuring a combination of excellent oil, grease and hydrocarbon resistance, toughness/resilience, and tear and abrasion resistance. Toughness, abrasion resistance and chemical resistance can be further enhanced though either vulcanization or by adding external crosslinking agents such as melamines, epoxies, phenolics or metal complexes. Nychem 1581 is stabilized with synthetic surfactants so it exhibits superior mechanical stability. It also has good compatibility with phenolic resins. Common applications include paper saturation, abrasives, adhesives, nonwoven binders and textile coatings.

Adhesives | General Adhesives | Nychem® 1581 is a carboxylated high nitrile latex that can be used as a wet laminating resin or heat seal adhesive with good adhesion to rubber, metal and textiles. |
Coatings | Industrial Coatings | Nychem® 1581 is a carboxylated high nitrile latex that can be used to enhance textile coating properties for water resistance, oil or solvent resistance, abrasion and wear resistance and flexibility. It is often used in conjunction with other compatible water based polymers. |
Coatings | Textile & Leather Abrasives (Textile & Leather) | Nychem® 1581 is a carboxylated high nitrile latex that can be used to saturate textiles which is then converted into abrasion or sanding products that are typically water resistant. Often used in combination with phenolic resins. |
