Regarding NOTICE OF ESSENTIAL CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE WORKFORCE from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security
On March 19, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), a branch of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, published the “Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers during COVID-19 Response.”
The CISA memorandum designates that it is critical for chemical and ingredient manufacturers in the U.S. to continue operating to ensure “continuity of functions critical to public health and safety, as well as economic and national security.” This includes manufacturers, carriers, and suppliers that work to produce, warehouse, and transport ingredients. CVC Thermoset Specialties (“CVC”) manufactures goods that are essential for the production of thermoplastics used in medical applications, coatings used in the packaging and transport of foods, coatings and adhesives used in the transport of LNG and petroleum products, and composites, adhesives and coatings used in aerospace and U.S. defense applications, all of which are considered critical during the response to COVID-19. To our knowledge, restrictions issued by states in and around the location of our sites have incorporated the CISA designation of chemical and ingredient manufactures as essential businesses that should continue to operate.
CVC has no current plans to shut down any operations, and currently intends to continue to operate as long as we can do so responsibly and in accordance with all applicable laws. All employees at CVC sites performing basic operations have been instructed to comply with CDC and OSHA guidelines, and we are executing complete and rigorous protocols to minimize the risk of infection. Any non-essential personnel or anyone showing symptoms of illness will not be permitted to access CVC’s plant sites. CVC will continue to follow all applicable laws and the guidance of relevant authorities regarding public health, and we have the same expectation for our suppliers.
We look forward to your continued support as a valued supplier during this time to allow us to continue to operate and prevent disruptions to the supply chain.
